Decreases in Ms - Inoculated Mice

چکیده
At present multiple sclerosis (MS) 1 presents a very complex medical problem. There are three fundamental reasons for this: first, the diagnosis of MS is extremely difficult (1) ; secondly, the etiology of the disease is unknown (2) ; and finally, a problem that is the keystone to the analysis of the other problems is the lack of a system, other than man, in which the disease can be studied. In experiments initiated to investigate the etiology of MS, Palsson et al. (3) and Field (4) described a disease in sheep and mice, respectively, that had been inoculated with MS brain homogenate. In each instance the disease was characterized by spongiform degeneration of the central nervous system (CNS). The significance of these findings is difficult to assess because: (a) these results have not been confirmed by others despite several attempts, and (b) it is not possible to exclude the possibility of contamination of the MS brain material or the test animals with scrapie, an agent with known potential for causing spongiform degeneration in these animals (5).

The Effect of Silver Nanoparticles on Wounds Contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Mice: An Experimental Study
The microorganisms have been usual noted as the major cause of delayed wound healing. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the most common pathogen causing these infections. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) show ample antibacterial activities. In present study, the effect of AgNPs alone and in combination with tetracycline investigated on inoculated wounds with Pseudomonas aeruginosa in mice. Twenty mice anes...

متن کاملEffect of IL-2 co-expressed or co-inoculated with immuno-dominant epitopes from VP1 protein of FMD virus on immune responses in BALB/c mice
Objective(s): The results of studies on vaccine development for foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) virus show that the use of inactivated vaccines for FMD virus is not completely effective. Novel vaccinations based on immuno-dominant epitopes have been shown to induce immune responses. Furthermore, for safety of immunization, access to efficient adjuvants against FMD virus seems to be critical.Materi...

Purpose: Staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB) is a potent inducer of cytotoxic T-cell activity, cytokine production and necrosis induction in vivo. Monophosphoryl lipid A (MPL) is an adjuvant derived from the lipopolysaccharide of E.coli, Salmonella Minnesota Re595 and other gram negative bacteria.Materials and Methods: In this research, The antitumor and antimetastatic effect of intra-venus inje...
متن کاملMaize (Zea mays L.) yield and aflatoxin accumulation responses to exogenous glycinebetaine application
Exogenously applied glycinebetaine (GB) accumulates at high levels in maize (Zea mays L.). Under water deficit and high temperature conditions GB application produces yield benefits. These sub-optimum conditions often result in high levels of aflatoxin accumulation which reduces grain quality. A 3-year (2008, 2009 and 2010) field experiment was conducted to determine the effects of GB on ma...
